Dear God: Instead of treating the suffering of others as if there is nothing we can do, may we have the depth of compassion to reach out to them. If we can do that, like night follows day, our helping hand will soon follow.
Dear God: If my community is not beautiful, may I greet the people with a smile, pickup some litter, and plant some flowers, for beauty is an expression of the heart with the power to uplift each soul it touches.
Dear God: Thank you for the deep well of love you blessed each of us with. But among us are those whose fears and hatred predominate, leaving ugliness in its wake. Please help them and help us not become their victim.
