It is easy to condemn the historic tyrants while not focusing on the many perpetrators who carried out their horrific direction. 

If we fail to understand what motivated these perpetrators, we lose all context of why these events occurred.

When someone has harmed me, I find the best way to get even is not to get even at all, but to seek to understand and forgive them.
